I had it all under control. Less furtive calligraphy when alone at home. No more guilty amazon.com purchaces of old books on letterforms, page composition and poster script. But now it all gets out of hand: letterpress books of essays on the physical act of reading; old used copies in German of theories of stroke width in written and printed lettering; a survey of Soviet typefaces.
This is what happens when I don't have enough work to do.
