For all my hesitance about democracy, and certainty about its many limits, I remain convinced of the value and superiority of democracy over other forms of government experienced by man. And I remain a lover of its dignification of man, of the romance - and how it romances me - of the polling place, of the vote, of the school cafeteria and folding tables made noble.
