On the 6 train, at City Hall this weekend.  We stop, doors open and we hold.  The conductor: "There is no express service this weekend.  You see that 5 going to come in over there?  That's a local.  He's leaving first."

To a New Yorker this is quite dull.  But nowhere else is the subway set up this way - locals and express trains; conductors with snappy information.
